“I was able to meet a lot of new people, and I always have a great time going.”

On Oct. 13, 2017, residents from Northwood Hills Care Center in Humansville, Missouri, participated in the annual Missouri Health Care Association Golden Age Games in Bolivar, Missouri.

Seventeen residents competed with residents from other area care centers in events such as cow milking, bingo, basketball toss, hog calling, quiz bowl, horseshoes, soccer kick, wheelchair racing, painting and group crafts.

At the end of the day, Northwood Hills Care Center residents took home 12 awards: two first place (in the basketball throw and arts/crafts), two second place, three third place and five fifth place. The nursing centers were then ranked against each other as teams, and Northwood Hills took home third place.

“I was able to meet a lot of new people, and I always have a great time going,” said resident Lonny Lausen.
