On Feb. 21, 2018, several residents from Northwood Hills Care Center in Humansville, Missouri, took a trip to Branson, Missouri, to visit the Titanic Museum.
“Our activity department has been working hard on fundraisers to raise money for special trips,” said Ashley Albright, activity director. “We had such a great time.”
As the 11 residents and five associates toured the museum, they learned how the ship was able to receive messages in 1912 and about the eight musicians who died on the ship trying to keep passengers calm. They even got to touch an “iceberg.”
“I can’t really pick a favorite part because it was all cool and really neat,” said resident August Fogg.
The group got to take pictures in front of a mockup of the fated ship’s Grand Staircase, made famous in the movie “Titanic.” They also stopped at a restaurant for lunch before returning home to Northwood Hills.
“I had a great time in Branson and want to go again,” said resident John Salsgiver.
